In a style that stresses ordinariness and a laborious consumption of time, the
paintings are re-enactments, within a systematic process.
The original photo is staged in the ambiguous area between popular and “high
culture”. Here the impossibility of repetition is examined. Ordinary childhood
memories are filtered through structures, which point to various visual codes.
Through layers of editing, the work investigates slippage between reality’s
relationship to fiction and an object/ image’s potential to trigger different senses of
time.
